This thing is amazing. When I laid my eyes on it, I found myself immediately uttering the phrase, “… I need this.” If you follow the link, you’ll find the entire walk-through of how he made it. Now, if only I can get a hold of a mini-chain gun. Then I’d be set to create this masterpiece. What amazed me most about this mech model is that it’s built out of a Mr. Potato Head. Check the inner workings. It’s insane.

Either way, it’s back to work. Finished up another shirt with some plays off of Bioshock (love that game), and contemplating what to do now. School is just around the corner for me, and while I’m not really anxious to get back it’ll be nice to get back into the regular groove of things. I work terribly when I don’t have a concrete schedule and school helps work those kinks out. Not many updates. The Dragon Ball shirt was finished awhile ago. I’m just waiting on some word on that. With any luck the site will like it and I can post my link here for you guys to take a look and prospectively buy. If only, I know.

Sorry for the not as random updates as of late. I’ve been getting busier and busier so it’s hard to keep stumbling and surfing the web as I do so often. I was actually planning on saving the Tater Titan for later, but I figured today would work as well as any. Plus it’s just a sexy piece of work. I’m going to head out. Wearing my Sarcastic Gamer T-Shirt and my Nintendo Boxers. Because they’re just that comfy.

A Refreshing Beverage

I’ve just decided what I’m going to attempt to replicate when I achieve the required time and skills to do so. Essentially I’m going to follow in this wise man’s footsteps and make a working Nuka Cola Machine. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any information on how he did it and where he began. Just pictures of him chilling with the machine and a bottle of Nuka Cola Quantum. Which I did manage to snag a quick look at how to make. The Nuka Cola Quantum, that is.

It really is quite beautiful. Well, as beautiful as a wasteland dispenser of nuclear beverages can be. Which is damn sexy.

Basically all I got out of this finding is now a deep urge to go and play Fallout 3. Which I do not need. I played enough of that while I was away on a supposed vacation. All I have to say is: Fallout is a bitch when you have absolutely no weapons or caps. Trust me, it blows. I guess I got bored and blew all of my caps the previous time playing on that file because as it turns out I only had 14 caps to my name. All of my weapons were severely damaged, which I couldn’t afford to repair, and I had no ammo. Thank god for baseball bats.

It’s not all bad, though. My tablet arrived yesterday (pardon my excuse for not posting). So far I’m loving it but I’m not very good yet. I’ve never used a tablet prior to this so there are some difficulties. Other than that I’m having tons of fun randomly using my tablet pen to browse Facebook. Really helps me become more coordinated with it. I’ll be sure to let everyone in on the first pieces that come out of my random doodles and what not. Finished my nimbus cloud for the shirt which is actually finished. Now I just have to wait to see if development will accept it. ._. Nervous.

If anyone knows how to make a Nuka Cola Machine or even just where to begin, tell me. I’m listening. Because… I’m always listening of course. And I’ll be your best friend. Now, I do my fair share of anime watching. I’ve seen a lot over the years so I guess I could be considered semi-knowledgable in this line of information. However, I never thought I’d see an anime based so hugely on balls. Last time this sort of thing happened was with the anime My Balls. And that’s crazy. I’m not talking hentai either, so perverts you can quit weighing on my every word for when I finally tell you what this magical anime is called. It’s called Pom Poko, which translates strictly into… Raccoon Testicles.

You heard correctly. The anime is about Raccoon Testicles. Raccooooon Testicles. Okay, My Balls was a little iffy but I’ll give that one a chance. I’ll probably watch that. But Pom Poko… IT’S BASED ON RACCOON TESTICLES. I’m just dumbfounded. Japan, I salute you. You managed to make an anime, and a successful one at that, based completely on magical raccoon testicles. I’m telling you, I couldn’t make this shit up!

Quoted from Wikipedia (Who says it’s not a reliable source?): “Prominent testicles are an integral part of Tanuki folklore, and they are shown and referred to throughout the movie, and also used frequently in their shapeshifting.” There you have it. They’re. Freaking. MAGICAL.

I suppose that’s all I have to rave about. I do intend on watching this anime. After researching and seeing these screen shots, how could I not? Again, that’s Pom Poko. If you watch it before me or have already seen it, comment. Please. I simply have to know if the anime is as ridiculous as it sounds. Did I say ridiculous? I meant… yeah, ridiculous.

Thank God I’m not claustrophobic.

While randomly surfing as I so often do, I happened to come across what Japan calls the “Capsule Inn”. The digital center of Japan, the town Akihabara is what holds host to this strange hotel. I can honestly say it is one of the bizarrest things I have ever found online. Internet: 1, Allison: zip. So far. Carrying on, the hotel is devided into seperate floors for men and women, for reasons that seem obvious enough. Especially after you see the size of a capsule.

Each capsule is just big enough to comfortably fit one person. That’s the bed as well, and a mounted television unit. Oh, and an alarm clock, though that hardly takes up space. As mentioned where I found this strange style for a hotel, each unit is about the size of a jetplane cockpit. And I figure about as comfortable. Outside of the capsules is the lounge area and a bath area, both of which are normal for any hotel to carry. Ratings go for about 4,000 Yen a night in the capsule, and I’ve gotta say that I do believe I would pay that for the experience. Other hotels go from 8,000-12,000 Yen.

Here’s an image so you can get a basic idea. That’s pretty much it for now. I’m still waiting on that tablet, but in the mean time I’ll keep on surfing and bringing you the random stuff I find. I’m totally chalking this up on my Bucket List.

One may notice that you come across a fair amount of random eccentrics when you’re online a lot. Especially when you’re bored beyond all reason and pretty much anything brings giggles. Don’t lie to yourself, you’ve had it too. So, when glancing around for reference colors for new t-shirt designs becomes too bland, I websurf. Often times this ends either with lots of enjoyment or a painful recalculation on life. For instance, I’m looking for the right colors for a new shirt with the phrase, “Find Some Balls”. The words themselves weren’t hard to come by at all and I already had a basic idea of how it would flow. However, when I go to look up a color scheme for the background, which was to partly feature a Nimbus Cloud from Dragon Ball, I stumbled upon a huge variety of other Nimbus’. The Nimbus 2000 (Harry Potter), a Nimbus bike, a Nimbus Omega Adventure Hero something-or-another, the clouds themselves, a separate type of nimbus which meant halo, and even a Nimbus Publishing Company. All I wanted was a freaking anime cartoon cloud, which at some point was a fairly popular thing to request. But alas, that was not my luck. I wound up having to sift through multiple image search pages to finally find at least one.

It’s amazing how many different meanings one word can have. I use this Firefox Application called Stumble for when designing takes it all out of me. It’s amazing what you can find but you also have to treat it with care. Be selective in what you search for, because if you’re not then you’ll wind up with crap out the WHA-ZOO. Albeit awesome crap, but still.

I’m simply terrible at putting off all of my work. It’s a wonder I’m doing well in school, what with never wanting to work and somehow being a beast at working. Life is a mystery. I should probably be working on that design, as mentioned above, but I just lack willpower. Which reminds me! I recently ordered a new tablet, or a first tablet. I’ve never drawn with one before so I’m anxious to see how it’ll play out for me. For my endorsement of the day, check out www.newegg.com if you need to grab some computer-esque equipment.
